  1. Rev Derek N. Stanworth (Minister of Edmondson, 1966-70) says:

Please consider entering the records of tombs for the Retirement Methodist Church, Watt Town.

  2. Rev Derek N. Stanworth (Minister of Edmondson, 1966-70) says:

Thanks for your reply, it is locally known as” Aboukir Inn” and is now used as the Aboukir Institute and is situated on the left side of the Aboukir Road running from the Eccleston Methodist Church towards the St.Luke’s Anglican Church. In my records there are graves there for the Tingle Family (my wife being a descendent), George Randall Tingle and his wife Ann Maria, there son, Theobald Dillon Tingle and his wife Henrietta, he died in 1899.The property was known as “Staffordshire”.

    • Interesting. In fact I drove in there and turned around. Next time I will explore more. So many places to visit!!!

    • Nola Cameon says:

My family is also a descendant of the Tingles, specifically Octavius, son of George, son of George Randall. I am wondering which son you are descended from? Also, I can’t find a marriage for George and Anna Maria. Were they married in England or in Jamaica? Where was Anna Maria born?

  3. Derek N Stanworth says:

We are descended from Theobald Dillon Tingle, son of George Randall Tingle and his wife Ann Marie Hopkins.

  4. Hello, I’m a descendant of George R. Tingle, his son Theobald Dillon Tingle, his daughter Marcella Gertrude Tingle, her daughter Marie Joesephine Higgin and her daughter Vivia Gertrude Hinds, her daughter, my mother Marjorie Evangeline Keene. I’ve also had my DNA analysis completed and have my raw DNA uploaded to GEDmatch.com of anyone would like to compare their DNA to mine. I have high percentages of Swiss, Swedish and German (father’s side), sadly less English only 13%. I was born in Southwark in England borough of Camberwell. I look forward to hearing or learning any new family information, especially about the female ancestors beyond Marcella Tingle as my mother knew her personally. I’m finding it difficult to trace back either Anna Maria, wife of George or Catherine, mother of George wife of JOHN Tingle. Thank you.

My family tree is available on MyHeritage.com under my name.

    • Rev Derek N Stanworth says:

Just to let you know that my wife, Paulette nee Higgins is a first cousin to Vivia Gertrude Hinds and of course knows your mother Marjorie Evangeline Keene, we live in the Bromley Borough.

  5. Delie Hawkins says:

Smile! Yes, she knows Paulette! Oh well, no so new family member! Thanks for responding. Send my love to Paulette!

  6. Stephen Porter says:

This may be of interest to the Tingle family; an extract from “Colonial Standard” newspaper, (published in Kingston) Monday 27 March 1876: “Died. At his residence, Aboukir, St. Ann, on the 22nd March 1876 in his 76th year, after a protracted illness, which he bore with Christian fortitude, GEORGE RANDOLPH TINGLE, Esq., leaving a widow and a large family to deplore his loss.”
This may also appear in the Gleaner but I have not checked.
