   Hi my name is Merna Coote, I’m trying to find information about the Coote family in Westmoreland. That’s where a lot of the Cootes originated. There is even a church named Cootesville but cant seem to get any info about the church or the Cootes.

   Hello, I am a descendent of Mary, daughter of (first name?) Armstrong who trained as a surgeon in Newcastle-on-Tyne in the mid 1700s, and then came to Westmoreland, presumably to practice as a surgeon. I would be grateful for information on his work. After her parents died, Mary was brought to Jamaica and married into the well-known Hallam family. Thankyou, and stay well.

     Errata, I meant to write that Mary was brought to London. She was born in Jamaica, and her mother was a local woman.

   My father died in June 2000, his memorial service was held at the Holy Trinity Zion Church, Grange Hill, Westmoreland, July 2, 2000. I am wondering if there are any records of this. I’ve been searching would be good to hear back. Thank you.

      Hi Terrike,

      I’m attempting to build my family tree for my kids and came across your message. I don’t have a lot of information about Colin’s side of the family but what I do know I will share. He has a sister Marcia “June”. She lives in Florida currently. I don’t have her contact information but can ask my older brother to reach out to people who are in contact with her regularly. He had a brother that died in a motor vehicle accident when I was very young. I left Jamaica when I was 7 so he died in the mid 70’s. Everyone called him “Delly”, if I recall correctly it was nickname for Delroy.

      I was in Jamaica in August last year. My sister and I brought my moms ashes back and buried next to my grandmother. I am still in Texas with my family. My cell is 832-589-2481. If you call, send a text first. I don’t respond to numbers that I don’t know. Too many scams and political adds.
